Competition: Shows and Trials
Conformation
In a conformation event, each dog is judged on how well they conform to the recognized breed standard. Judges concentrate on distinctive features of the breed to determine which dog(s) most closely represent the ideal standard. Breed winners move on to compete for Group 1st and Group 1st winners move on to compete for Best in Show.
Agility
Dobermans excel at the team based sport known as agility. In agility, the handler guides the dog through a series of obstacles in a race against the clock. Agility requires a solid obedience foundation and many hours of practice and body conditioning.

Obedience
Obedience trials range from companion dog levels to advanced levels. They test the dogs ability in a variety of areas, such as heeling and other basic commands, jumping, retrieving, hand signals, and scenting.
Dock Diving
Water lovers will enjoy launching off the dock to compete in distance jumps and air retrieves. Cool off this summer close to home by visiting The Dog Pool north of Winnipeg.

Rally
In a rally trial, the handler and dog are required to work as a team to complete a series of commands and/or obstacles. Each team starts with a certain number of points and points are deducted for each fault, based on severity of the fault. The highest scoring team will rank 1st and/or High in Class.
Tricks
Tricks are a great way to engage your dog's mind and a fun way to build a bond. Tricks are fun to train and there is something for dogs at every level. Purebreds and mixed breeds can be tested and titled through Do More With Your Dog and titles can be transferred to CKC/AKC.
